The famous beaches in Phuket

Over 5 million tourists come to Phuket Island every year. The reason why is quite simple, THE BEACHES.
Once the airplane lands at the International Airport and You walk outside, You smell the tropical blooming flowers, and a hint of the paradise from the small breeze which always blows from off the Ocean onto Phuket.
The Beaches on Phuket Island are user-friendly. The sand is not powdery or course but perfect small granules, waiting for You to walk down the coast, or spread out a towel and lay out under the shade of a Palm or Coconut Trees most all the Beaches having ample asphalt parking just past the tree-line, right next to the beach.

One of Phukets' unique things is that the west-side beaches which are on the Andaman Sea are Mai-Khao, Nai-Yang, Bang-Tao, Kamala, Kata-Karon and Nai-Harn, is that you look out at the bluest ocean, with parasailing, jet-skis, and snorkeling available at certain areas at most of these areas. The east-side has several beaches, Rawai,  the easiest access to, and also several sweeping Bays for you to enjoy, Chalong Bay with its' new and beautiful pier, open for all visitors from sunrise until late in the night, Makham Bay, where the local people swim and fish, and Sapam Bay and Kung Bay, for those who wish to see nature untouched and in its' pristine state.

The ocean life is teaming in the waters off of Phuket, with Scuba Diving being one of the top five industries on the Island, because the waters are crystal clear, and the marine life is so diverse and abundant. Phuket Island is surrounded by these beaches, and so there is not the crowded, cramped feeling when going to the beach here on Phuket, like you find at so many other Tourist Destinations which are designed around their beaches.
