BANGLA ROAD - Do not be fooled into thinking that Bangla Road is for everyone in the family.... It isn't.. ! For children that are allowed to watch what they want to at home, and for children over the age of 13 -15 years old, the one-block street ofBangla Road is probably OK. There are many people who will tell You that the City of Patong was built-up around Bangla Road, in the last 15 years or so...
Anyone who is interested in Bars, and loud-music (rock-&-roll), and young, available ladies who speak English, Russian, German as well as Thai, - will absolutely enjoyBangla Road. A large percentage of tourists who come to Phuket island more than once, "hang-out" on Bangla Road every opportunity that is available for them to do so. It is so unique and special, people save all year back home to come and spend their' evenings on Bangla Road their' holiday week(s) in Thailand. For every tourist that visits & walks down the one-block pedestrian-street, there are 3 - 5 young ladies awaiting your' arrival, with a fabulous smile, and an open heart. Stories abound, of romance and even sometimes marriage, between a tourist-visitor, and a woman whom they met on Bangla Road or the half-dozen side-streets. Although the road is never closed, it is a "non-vehicle walking-street" from 6pm sunset until 5am sunrise every night. On one end of the block is the ocean and a Police Station, and on the other end of the block is JungCeylon and a Police kiosk, so safety is provided, however, take a Taxi if You plan on drinking, and keep your' wallet in your' front-pocket, as You would anywhere there is a crowd of unknown people brushing shoulders with You.
